Nelly-Ange
Nelly-Ange
Nelly-Ange is a medical doctor in General Surgery Residency Training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Prior to starting residency, she obtained a joint MD/MBA degree from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School, where her principal focus was on financing the delivery of surgical care in sub-Saharan Africa. She completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University, majoring in Spanish & Italian Studies.
Nelly-Ange has mentored students for much of her academic life, including presiding over The Girls Club to support and guide underprivileged middle school girls in Durham, NC, mentoring STEM high schoolers in the Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program in Boston, MA, and training more junior level residents every day in her current job. In addition to mentorship, she has held various leadership positions, including Vice-President of SNMA at HMS, President of her Section at HBS, Co-President of the Minority House staff for Academic and Medical Achievement at Vanderbilt, and Chair of the American College of Surgeons’ Resident & Associate Society Global Surgery Workgroup.
She hails from Cameroon, Central West Africa but grew up in multiple countries in Africa and Europe before coming to the United States in 2001. As a result of this global upbringing, she loves to travel internationally, view the world’s great wonders on outdoor adventures, sample foods from various countries, run/HIIT, and read.

Currently serving as a Senior Attorney at a renowned private law firm in Ghana, Aaron holds positions as a Teaching Assistant in Law at the University of Ghana and as a law Lecturer at Kaaf University. Agyemang Danquah is a senior lecturer at the Department of Crop Science and coordinator for academic programs at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), within the University of Ghana.
